So What?

Scripto began as a side project at The Colbert Report during the early 2010s. The vision was to use the emerging technology of real-time collaboration as a way to reduce friction in the show's demanding, "build the show up from scratch every day" writing and production process. Scripto went on to power the last two years of the Report's workflow, before spreading to similarly formatted shows like The Daily Show, Last Week Tonight, and Full Frontal with Samantha Bee. In fact, a **Scripto writing staff has won every single Emmy award for outstanding comedy/variety writing since 2013.

So… maybe this is the kind of job you’ve always wanted. Over the last few years, we've focused on building a best-in-class collaboration suite for ALL writing-driven television shows, films, and podcasts. We've expanded Scripto to include the industry-standard screenplay format, and seen usage increase sixfold in 2021 alone. As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to make work-from-home and hybrid-from-home the new normal, we're proud to help teams and partnerships continue working together seamlessly. We’re getting a lot of traction and things are looking very good for the company and the product… but this is about what it would be like to work here.

Let’s start with what’s different about working at Scripto. We believe:

We are less interested in measuring your résumé than we are interested in finding people with strengths in one or more of the following relevant technologies:

What ELSE Are You Looking For?

Well, we're a fully remote team and have been since this project became a company in 2014. Ahead of the curve! If you're absolutely done going into an office, we'll be a great fit for you.

We're also a small enough team that everyone has cause to interact with our occasionally famous and professionally interesting clients, so we're looking for people who can be cool about that and find it motivating, without making it weird.

We are committed to diversity and building an inclusive environment for people of all backgrounds and ages, and especially encourage members of traditionally underrepresented communities to apply, including women, people of color, LGBTQ people, and people with disabilities.
